Celebrity Chef Drama Darryl Taylor founded the Overflow End-stage Renal Foundation and is the inventive Executive Chef and Owner of Epicurean Drama Caterers and Events in Atlanta, Georgia. Overflow End-stage Renal Foundation was inspired by the difficulties he witnessed others and himself face as a dialysis patient. His vision and the organization’s objective are as follows: caring for individuals seeking a better quality of life for renal sufferers and providing basic help and support with daily obstacles. Our strength derives from donations and the help of volunteers in the communities we serve.
The Overflow End Stage Renal Foundation means a lot to me. It wasn’t until someone I cared about was diagnosed with renal disease that I became interested in the subject. Unfortunately, there is no aid for the daily obstacles that so many people with Renal disease face….it’s the little things, a trip to a doctor’s appointment, some assistance with modest household chores, or simply an ear to listen. The needs of the renal patient are sometimes underestimated because they are typically ambulatory and appear to be completely capable of caring for themselves, whereas in reality, a side effect of frequent dialysis is weariness and lack of energy.
This foundation looks for ways to help, whether it’s by providing a ramp for easy access to the home or by assisting with small day-to-day tasks that the renal patient is often too exhausted to do….washing clothes, preparing light meals…even something as simple as changing a light bulb…There is no such thing as a small object or project. After many years of working with numerous charitable organizations in towns across the country, I have a strong appreciation for how groups like Overflow End Stage Renal Foundation strive to improve the quality of life of people.
